Flower Beds on Staines Rail Station Platforms
Narrow, forgotten, dull. Why not do something to make it prettier?
That is what I thought one day waiting on the platform. A few talks here and there and there you are, plants to cheer up passengers. But not only that, it helped the train station to win the prize of BEST SMALL STATION within Southwest Trains annual Station Pride Awards in 2009. Isn't it great?
But for me, the best thing was to do this as a volunteer, supplying part of the plants and the labour to plant and maintain the beds at no cost.
